Siraj Qasim Tilli demands handing over Karachi to army for next 5 years.
Karachi (04-Aug-2020) Karachi's leading industrialist Siraj Qasim Tilli demanded that Karachi be handed over to the army for the next 5 years. He said that the solution of the city's infrastructure and problems was possible only under the supervision of the army, adding that control of the city should be handed over to the army for the betterment of the people. According to private TV, Chairman BMG Siraj Qasim Teli said that the federal government is welcome to take good steps for the betterment and cleanliness of Karachi.
We welcome the government's commitment to keeping Karachi clean. NDMA, FWO is working hard to clean up Karachi. Due to the hard work of both of them, the results have started showing in the first 2 days of the cleaning campaign.
On the other hand, according to the spokesperson of the National Disaster Management Authority, the cleaning of storm drains in Karachi has been started on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The FWO is cleaning the drains on a 24-hour basis, there are 552 small and large storm drains across the city, and cleaning of 22 of the 38 major drains has been started on an emergency basis. The spokesman said that the Sindh government has taken the responsibility of cleaning 19 drains while FWO is working on Gujjar Nala, Korangi Nala, and Mowach Goth Nala. According to the spokesperson, there are a total of 21 points on the three major canals. Fourteen FWO teams are working to clean the drains. These teams have removed 4,364 tons of garbage from the drains yesterday. The spokesman said the FWO was cleaning the drains on a 24-hour basis.
