The overwhelming majority supported Siraj Teli's statement to hand over Karachi to the army

KARACHI (07-Aug-2020) Businessmen Group (BMG) Chairman and former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Siraj Qasim Tilli has said that the reconstruction of infrastructure His statement regarding handing over Karachi to the Pakistan Army for the next 5 years has been appreciated by the overwhelming majority while only a few people misunderstood the statement.
Let them know that I was born in Karachi, I am a Memon and I am more Sindhi than any other Sindhi living in Sindh. We stand by our legitimate demand for handing over Karachi to the army which is not a political statement and this task should be handed over to NDMA and FWO under the supervision of the army as they immediately cleared the drains in a few days. But it has done an amazing job of cleaning up to avoid the catastrophe caused by the possible rains.
He said that the work of infrastructure reconstruction should be given to NDMA and FWO immediately while for this special purpose the federal and provincial governments would have to make funds available at all times so that the entire infrastructure of the city Roads and sewerage are included. These lines can be rebuilt and garbage can be cleaned once and for all, while all political parties can jointly devise an effective mechanism to ensure lasting sanitation throughout Karachi in the future.
Siraj Teli said that there is no political angle in his statement but our only intention is to sincerely raise voice for the betterment of Karachi which only Pakistan Army can do because all the political parties which have been in power for the last 20 to 25 years. Stay in power. These political parties have done nothing for the largest city of Pakistan but they are fully responsible for destroying the infrastructure of the city and aggravating the problems of the people of Karachi.
The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that the provincial government and the local administration are incapable of dealing with the issue of infrastructure due to neglect of infrastructure issues in Karachi, so it has become imperative to hand over the task to the Pakistan Army immediately. Tilly pointed out that the dilapidated condition of Karachi's infrastructure can be gauged from the fact that all the roads in the city except the main roads were left in a state of disrepair and the seven industrial zones of Karachi, especially the site area, were extremely devastating. The situation is dire.
It is also a matter of concern that the board meeting of Site Limited, which is responsible for improving the infrastructure in Karachi's largest industrial area, is not taking place. In this regard, I would like to point out that the late Mehdi Shah, the former Managing Director of Site Limited, who had recently passed away due to the Corona virus, has allocated Rs. 1.25 billion for road development works in the site area Were successful but unfortunately these funds are still unused.
If anyone has any doubts about the pathetic infrastructure network of the site area, we invite them to visit the site area where the condition of the roads is so bad that it is now impossible to travel by jeep. He stressed that the clean-up drive should not be limited to clearing blocked drains but every nook and cranny of Karachi should be completely cleared of garbage on a war footing and this process should continue till the entire city. It is not completely cleaned, so effective strategies and procedures should be devised to achieve this goal in practice to ensure that the city is kept clean in the future as well.
He said that the people of Karachi and the business community do not trust the local administration which has failed miserably in alleviating the problems faced by the people of Karachi. Therefore, the government should heed the impartial demands of the business community Otherwise, the catastrophic situation of Karachi will be reflected in the national economy. Therefore, in view of the large share of more than 70% of the revenue generated from Karachi, serious consideration should be given to improving the infrastructure of the city.
