The United States has seized four Venezuelan oil tankers from Iran

NEW YORK (15-Aug-2020) The United States has seized cargo carrying four tankers carrying fuel from Iran to Venezuela. A senior U.S. official said no military force was used in the seizure, nor were the ships seized. Instead, U.S. officials threatened shipowners, insurers and captains with sanctions and forced them to hand over cargo. Prosecutors allege that the four ships were carrying 1.1 million barrels of gasoline to Venezuela, but the tankers never arrived in Venezuela and disappeared.

Another U.S. official said two ships later appeared in Cape Verde. Iran's ambassador to Venezuela said reports of the seizure of Iranian tankers were another lie and a psychological ploy by the United States. Hojat Sultani said on Twitter that the plane Not Iranian, their owner and their flag has nothing to do with Iran. According to the American broadcaster, the Venezuelan ambassador says that this is another lie and psychological tactic of the American propaganda machine. Terrorist Donald Trump cannot cure his humiliation and defeat at the hands of Iran through false propaganda. The administration wants to halt Iran's energy trade and is working to remove Nicolas Maduro from the presidency in Venezuela.

The United States has warned ports, shipping companies and other related entities not to trade with Iran and Venezuela due to hostility to the country. Had to and exports fell the worst in the last 70 years. The Venezuelan president imported oil from Iran to meet the country's needs, which angered US President Donald Trump's administration. Iran sent five tankers to Venezuela from April to June this year. The government received about 1.5 million barrels of oil, but Iran also faced new sanctions. On June 25, the United States banned five Iranian ships carrying oil to Venezuela.
