Inflation in the country fell by 0.06% during the last week.
Islamabad (11-Aug-2020) Inflation in the country has declined by 0.06 per cent during the last week, with prices of 16 essential commodities declining, prices of 15 commodities and 20 commodities during the week. Prices remained unchanged. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the price sensitive index for the combined income group declined by 0.06% in the week ended August 6.
The price sensitive index recorded 134.23 points in the week ended August 6, compared to 134.31 points in the previous week. The price sensitive index for income group has declined by 0.33%, from Rs 17,732 to Rs 22,888, from Rs 22,889 to Rs 29,517, from Rs 29,518 to Rs 44,175 and above. The index has declined by 0.32, 0.23, 0.14 and 0.07% respectively.
During the week, prices of 16 essential commodities declined, prices of 15 commodities increased and prices of 20 commodities remained unchanged. Among the commodities whose prices declined were tomatoes, chicken, bananas, lentils, flour, lentils, ghee , Cooking oil, firewood, lentils, jaggery, rice, and cigarettes, last week diesel, petrol, potatoes, onions, bread, shirts, peppers, sugar, yogurt, fresh milk, LPG cylinders, Prices of soap, garlic, basmati rice and mustard oil have risen.
