IPL: 3 franchises face problems with new rules

Mumbai (10-Aug-2020) Due to the corona virus, three franchises are facing problems with the transfer of the IPL to the UAE this year due to new special rules for the tournament. According to sources, the event committee has decided that the franchises can take a maximum of 24 players with them to the UAE. However, the three teams Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Sun Riser Hyderabad have 25 squads, so abide by the rules. In doing so, they will have to remove one player from their squads.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have finalized the list of 24 players and the team will stay in the biosafety zone at the hotel in Abu Dhabi while the players will have quad tests before arriving at the airport and entering the hotel. It may be recalled that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) under the auspices of the Indian Cricket Board will start from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates. All matches, including the final of the Indian Premier League, will be played in three UAE venues: Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The final match of the league will be played on November 10 and 53 matches including the final will be played in the league.
According to the tournament administration, the event was scheduled in India from March 29 this year but was postponed till April 15 due to the global epidemic Corona virus. After Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on April 14 that the lockdown in India would continue till at least May 3, 2020, the BCCI suspended the tournament indefinitely. On August 2, 2020, it was confirmed that the tournament would be played in the United Arab Emirates between September 19 and November 10, 2020.
